Lil Guy just left for his first visit with Biomom. She has her trial tomorrow. We've had him for one month and one day. Personally, I thought the timing was rather...interesting.
Yesterday, an agency came over to assess the precious bundle of joy we often refer to as "Miracle Man" and he, once again, did not pass his vision test :(
Mornings can be challenging around here since Steve leaves for work before the big kids get up. I wake up early to make everybody's lunches and get breakfasts organized then I head to Shelby's room where I wake her up, start getting her dressed, go to her bathroom, bring her potty chair back to her room, put her on the potty chair, wheel it to the bathroom, after she goes, I wipe her, take her back to her room, transfer her onto her wheelchair, finish dressing her, do her hair, go out to the kitchen, put her tray on, finish getting her breakfast ready, cut it up to be ready for her to attempt to feed it to herself...anyways, you get the drift. I have 11 1/2 year old twins but Shelby is often more work than our medically fragile foster blessings. Especially when the babies are as young as our current lil punkin since he can't just entertain himself with toys at his high chair like other foster blessings eventually have been able to do. The moral of my story is that THIS morning, while I was fighting with Shelby's new powerchair chest straps she just got yesterday, baby was screaming and Shane (Mr. I-don't-really-like-tiny-babies) picked up Mr. Lung Olympics Gold Medalist and loved on him until Shelby drove herself out the front door. Granted it was only for maybe 2 minutes but a. I didn't ask Shane to do it and b. Baby actually settled down for Shane unlike the last time I asked Shane to hold him for 30 seconds. Victory!!! :)
Well, I am stranded at home - the first time in over a month I am baby free because Grandma's car is sold, the van's in the shop to fix the leaking windshield, Steve has the Acura and it's raining or else I could walk/bike somewhere. Oh well, off to get chores done then maybe read while I watch for the lady who transported Baby to return. I've been praying for her drive to go well, Biomom to have a wonderful visit, for the drive back to go smoothly and am excited to see that adorable lil face again around 11:30 a.m.!
