Are you aware?

Busy day - Rough morning with kids, worked on lots of stuff at home, visited my Grandma, took Shane to an eye doctor's appt, home, did my nightly routine w/Baby (sponge bath, cleaned g-tube site, re-did oral device tape after cleaning mouth appliance, etc), made dinner, did chores, medicated sweet baby, she and I had the BEST snuggle time, worked on Shelby's homework, ... the norm).

This morning I received a call from a public health nurse whom I've worked with before. During the course of the conversation, she asked me if I was aware that Baby has a cleft palate. I giggled inside. Yes, I am aware she has a cleft lip/palate. The sweet baby has only one nostril - the cleft goes that high. She has no roof of her mouth - we can see up to the top of her nose inside her mouth. It's one thing to be asked before you've met the child but after having her for exactly one week, if I haven't figured out that this sweet punkin has a major facial issue, I'm not fit to be a foster mommy!!!
